Our Story
Philip and Gina Whitley moved to the small historic town of Montgomery, Texas, 30 years ago; where they raised four children and now have ten grandchildren. With a deep love for each other and sharing a lifetime of memories, they enjoy spending time with their family, traveling, and having a glass of wine together when relaxing at the end of the day.
While completing her degree at Conrad N. Hilton College at the University of Houston, where she specialized in wine and spirits management, Gina decided to combine her passion for wine and her experience in quality management and production to venture into the wonderful wine industry. This journey began with a vision of a 1/3 acre vineyard in her backyard. Gina was asked, “How are you going to market this?” She said “I don’t know yet, but I’m going to make it happen.” Quite often at sunset, Gina would stroll through her 1/3 acre plot with a glass of red wine in hand and imagine the dream that she knew one day would come.
From Dream to Reality
Gina shared her dream with her sisters who not only loved the idea, but together helped her build it. Philip and Gina moved to more acreage to build their home site, and where they decided to break ground on the future site of Whitley Vineyards. After years of holding steadfast to a vision and never giving up, Gina recognized that there was more behind this venture than she ever imagined. With shared interests, support and help from her husband, sisters, children, nieces and friends, Whitley Vineyards was built!
